ZAD for Arts did not emerge overnight; it is the culmination of a long journey of dedication and perseverance that began in 1967 when the Arab Cultural Society was founded. With a vision to enrich Jordan’s educational, cultural, and social landscape, the Society has evolved over the years, not as a static institution, but as a living platform that grows with time, builds upon its legacy, and adapts to the changing needs of its community. From education to the arts, and from heritage preservation to empowering creativity, every step along the way paved the path for the birth of ZAD for Arts.
In 2023, ZAD for Arts emerged as a continuation of this journey - a nonprofit initiative affiliated with the Arab Cultural Society and supported by the Samir Abdulhadi Fund for Culture and Arts. ZAD aims to enrich Jordan’s cultural landscape with diversity and vitality, elevating the performing arts sector by nurturing young talent and forging strategic partnerships with established and independent cultural institutions. That same year, ZAD launched one of its flagship projects, ZAD Music Academy, hosted the Arab Community Orchestra and its programs, and built strategic collaborations with Al Balad Theater and Al Shams Theater.
